'Home' original linocut
'Home' is an original linocut print - design size of approximately 8” x 6".
This linoprint depicts a tree filled with life - with birds, animals and insects native to the British Isles, all of whom call this tree their home.
- A fox, a badger, and a pair of hedgehogs sleep in their underground dens.
- A woodpecker searches for bugs, and a squirrel climbs up the trunk
- A mole peeks out of its hole, and a hare is poised to run
- A spider hangs down from its web in amongst the branches
- An owl peers out from its hole in the tree
- A caterpillar crawls along a branch
- A bird sits on a branch, with a nest below it
- Another bird is in flight amongst the branches, as is a bat and a butterfly
- A wasps' nest hangs from an upper branch, and a fly makes a looping trail across the sky
- The soil below the tree is full of mini-beasts, worms and insects, and fungi spout around the base of the tree

Printed using Cranfield inks in black, on off-white Japanese Ho-Sho paper.
This is my original design, hand-drawn onto a lino block which is then carved ready for printing. The plate is then inked up and each print is hand-pulled. Due to the nature of the crafting & printing process, each print will be slightly different, with small variations in tone and colour.
Unframed / umounted - each print will be shipped flat (not rolled), carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue with a backboard (no plastic).
