'Sunflowers' reduction linocut - limited edition
'Sunflowers' original linocut, design size approx 8”x6”.
A very limited edition of just 12, signed and numbered by me as the artist.
Printed on 300gsm Snowdon paper, using Cranfield inks.
This is my own original design, which is hand-drawn onto a lino block and then carved ready for printing. The plate is then inked up and each print is hand-pulled.
This is a reduction print, which means it was created in layers - one layer per colour - with more lino being carved away in between each layer. Hence “reduction print”, as the carved area reduces at each stage. This means that I can never print any more, as the block that created the first layers no longer exists.
Due to the nature of the crafting & printing process, each print will be slightly different, with small variations in tone and colour.
Unframed / umounted - each print will be shipped flat (not rolled), carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper with a backboard (no plastic).
